How It Works
The model is simple. A Nashoba Neighbors member makes a request for a service, such as a ride to a social event or appointment, help with an errand, or assistance with a household activity. A volunteer signs up to fulfill the request then contacts the member to confirm the arrangement.
This creates opportunities to build new relationships, support one another, strengthen our community, and enable older adults to live more safely and independently in their own homes.
What We Do
Nashoba Neighbors provides a variety of services needed by our members, such as:
🚗 Drive members to an appointment or a social event
✔️ Run errands
🔨 Do minor home repairs and maintenance
💻 Guide members to learn new technology like smart phones, tablets, and TVs
☕ Visit members to play cards or a board game or just visit for a while
We also provide social events and occasional educational programs:
👪 Social gatherings like breakfast and lunch outings or potluck events
👩🏫 Educational events like garden tours and special programs
♣️ Interest groups like a games group and book club
